Applying for Financial Aid


How do I apply?

You should start by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form at studentaid.gov. You will have to fill out the FAFSA every year that you are enrolled to stay eligible for federal student aid.

When completing your FAFSA - Please include our school code: 003762 - Virginia University of Lynchburg
Take the guesswork out of financial aid by providing you with easy-to-follow steps:
  1. Complete and submit your FAFSA studentaid.gov.
  2. Complete your Entrance Counseling https://studentaid.gov/entrance-counseling/
  3. Sign your Master Promissory Note https://studentaid.gov/mpn/ (Include school name)
  4. Look out for an email from a member of the Financial Aid team for the next steps and or additional documents needed to complete your aid package.
Helpful Tips for completing FAFSA, Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note:
  1. If it is your first time completing a FAFSA, make sure you create an FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID for you and your parents. This is the only way to sign and submit your FAFSA.
  2. When completing your FAFSA, please have student and your parents' tax and income information available to input accurate information.
